In last week’s episode I shared the story of how, years ago, my husband and I went canoeing in the Ozarks on a beautiful day in late December. But when our canoe capsized, and I was caught by the river’s strong current, I knew I very well could die.
In this week’s episode I talk about what happened next, and how, when my life was in danger, it was so obvious to me that my need to survive outweighed our conventional norms about property and ownership. And I ponder what this suggests about the plight of the refugees who are gathering on our border.
