When we begin to disengage our own mind from egoic thought patterns such as judgment, unworthiness, and attack, we open more and more to our true essence as expressions of Love.
But how do we move beyond ego? In this episode I talk about three essential components of that process.

Hello, Evolutionaries and welcome to this week’s podcast episode. If you’ve listened to this podcast for any period of time, you know that I’m speaking a lot about this transition that we’re in the midst of, into this unitive consciousness, universal consciousness, Christ consciousness, Buddha consciousness, whatever you want to call it.
We are moving out of this idea of separateness and into this understanding, of interconnectedness of interbeingness, of interdependence, which really is the truth of Love.
So we are in the midst of this transition. And when we look at the world around us, of course, we still see the momentum of the egoic mind playing out, especially in the political arena, but also the cultural context—the egoic ideas of separateness of othering others, of creating enemies in our own minds, of greed.
All of these things, of course, are aspects and expressions of that egoic illusion of separateness. So, we see it playing out around us in the world in pretty extreme and caricatured fashion right now. And we also, if we are attentive, and if we’re willing to become aware, we can notice it playing out in our own minds.
Because everything that we see playing out on the world stage has its origins in the mind. And if we really do our own inner work, we can see how those patterns of separateness, of attack, of judgment, all of those egoic patterns are present in our own thinking, if we really pay attention. And that really is the task that we are setting about as evolutionary activists: becoming aware of that and disengaging our own thinking from that illusory pattern of the ego, which is essentially rooted in judgment.
And judgment is. . . I’ve spoken before of judgment being the mortar that keeps this whole egoic structure in place. So we are in this moment of transition where we are invited now to do this in our own lives and in our own minds, to make this transition, to move from that egoic illusion into the understanding and the acceptance of ourselves not as isolated beings, which is the ego’s understanding, but as interconnected and interwoven with all of Reality.
In other words, to become aware of what I call our true Self with a capital S, which is the aspect of ourself that is in union with the All. So, this is part of our contribution to the world right now is to begin to disengage from that so that the world itself can make this transition. We’re doing our part.
And the other benefit of doing this work is that we can ourselves move into our own inherent joy, our own inherent worth our own inherent happiness. So we’re making our contribution to the world. And we are also experiencing fulfillment in our own lives.
Because when we are operating out of that ego orientation, we live lives that are based in judgment, which leads to fear, it leads to unhappiness, it leads to all of these things that keep us constricted and keep us living small self lives.
And so we move beyond ego for the sake of the world and for the sake of our own happiness, and for the sake of our own realization of the truth of who we are.
Now, in my experience, there are three things that are required to move beyond the ego. One is awareness, we have to come to a point where we can see that we are in fact living that illusion, that we are living it and living from it. And so there is this component of awareness, of becoming aware of our own thinking and how our own thinking is reflecting these illusory egoic attributes of judgment, of attack, of unworthiness. We begin to become aware of that pattern operating in our own minds.
Another thing that’s required in my experience, and this is very, very important, is compassion. Because, in the end, the only way beyond ego is the way of the heart or the way of Love. Love is the one thing that dissolves ego because ego is illusion, and Love is Reality. And so when we enfold this egoic thinking and this small self that is in essence a false self, when we enfold it in Love—rather than coming at it from an egoic orientation of judging it and trying to get rid of it and attack it—when we come at it from Love, then we experience freedom, then we experience expansiveness, then we begin to access the true Self.
And the third thing in my experience that’s required to move beyond ego is courage. Because we live in a world that is based in egoic thinking, we live in a world that reflects egoic thinking, and that expects egoic thinking. And so to live from a different reality, to live from the Reality of the heart, to live from the reality of Love, takes courage.
It demands courage of us to stand in a different reality, to stand in the truth of Love when the world around us expects us to participate in judgment, expects us to participate in attack, expects us to participate in this othering of others.
And so we need courage to stand in the Reality of Love. And courage, of course, is a word that comes from the French, it comes from the Latin. It means heart. Courage, again comes from the heart, because the heart knows our oneness. The heart knows the Reality of Love.
And so again, we find ourselves coming back to this Reality of the heart, of the knowing of the heart, of the Reality of Love.
And so awareness, compassion, and courage. These are the things that we align ourselves with as evolutionary activists wanting to play our part in this transition in the world, and wanting to claim the truth of who we are as expressions of this Reality of Love.
I, over the last few weeks have been putting together an online course that I’m going to be launching very shortly, and this course looks at these three aspects: awareness, compassion, and courage. And what I’m doing right now is I’m in essence mining all of all of the insights that have come from my own journey through this terrain.
If you are interested in finding out more about that course, I encourage you to sign up for my newsletter, my email list if you’ve not already done that, because that’s how I will be letting people know about the course and how to sign up for the course. So if you haven’t yet signed up for my newsletter or my my email list, you can do that on my website patriciapearce.com.
So I leave these three aspects with you: awareness, compassion and courage. And I also just invite you to claim this for yourself, to know that when you move beyond that egoic mind, what you are doing is you are opening to the truth of who you are as an expression of Love, a Love that knows no bounds, a Love that excludes nothing, and excludes no one.
And until next week, I bid you peace.
