Does consciousness play a role in transforming the physical realm and bringing forth a new world, or is that, as some would claim, simply magical thinking? This is the question I address in this week’s episode.

Hello evolutionaries and welcome to this week’s podcast episode. Today I would like to talk with you about magic and our understanding of magic, because I think a lot of times when people look at the spiritual path or what we’re talking about in terms of using our consciousness and engaging our consciousness, with reality in a co-creative kind of a way, people can often dismiss that as magical thinking, this idea that we can affect outcomes and that we can affect the physical world through consciousness.
So it can often be dismissed as magical thinking. And yet, when we move more deeply into this understanding and this knowing that there is nothing that is separate from anything else, it’s inevitable that we come to see that in every moment, and with every thought and every action, we are, in fact, affecting the whole because there isn’t any division, there isn’t any separateness. And so everything that we think, everything that we say, everything that we do, ripples out and has an effect on the whole.
And so that is not at all magical thinking, and those of us who practice prayer, for instance, and the way that I do that is really to enter into that aspect of mind, that knowing of mind, in which I am quite aware that I am not separate from the person or the situation that I am praying for. I enter into that state of being aware of oneness, and when in that state, I can hold the situation or hold the person in love, in compassion, in the light. And I know that that it does have an effect.
So I want then to think about what actually is magical thinking because the magical thinking that we are completely for the most part ignorant of and oblivious to is the idea that separateness can exist, and the idea that we can be isolated from one another and isolated from our source.
If we use this term “magical thinking” in that sort of a dismissive way to describe something that is untrue or out of touch with reality, then the the real magical thinking is the idea that we are separate one from another and separate from the source of our being.
So we are engaged in magical thinking whenever we are in that egoic mind and buying into that idea that separateness exists. When we let go of that belief and enter into the knowing of our oneness, then we become more intentional about how we participate and engage with that field of oneness, as individuated beings, how it is that we then become conscious co-creators with the realm of of Love and the realm of oneness.
So I wanted to bring this to our attention because maybe you sometimes yourself begin to question whether it’s possible to participate as a co-creator in the unfolding of reality and in the unfolding of the events that happened on Earth. And what I want to communicate to you is that there is no way that you cannot be a co-creator, because you cannot ever be separate from this realm of the whole. And so by your very being, you are changing the course of history.
And so the question is whether we are participating in this earthly drama as people who are conscious of our oneness, or people who are oblivious to our oneness. And if we are oblivious to our oneness, if we are engaging in that magical thinking of separateness, then we are going to be enacting things that are out of sync with the reality of Love.
If, however, we become aware that we are—although and albeit temporal—expressions of that oneness, we are interconnected with and one with the All. And when we are in that understanding, then we can affect change in a very different way where we actively and consciously tap in to that knowing within ourselves of our interconnectedness, one with another.
And so this week, I would simply invite you to notice when you might be engaging in magical thinking, of judgment and attack and othering, or the idea of separateness, the idea that you’re alone, and to remind yourself that that is simply magical thinking. And to return to the knowing and to the truth of your oneness and your interconnectedness with all of Reality, which is Love and holds you in love.
And until next week, I bid you peace.
