Hello, evolutionaries and welcome to this week’s podcast episode. Today I’d like to tell you about a dream that I had very recently. It’s very short. and in this dream, I’m asked by a woman, “What is your for?“ That’s her question to me.
What is your ‘for’ and I think she’s asking f-o-u-r, what is your four? I’m puzzled; she explains that what she’s asking about is my core desire, what is my core desire, for instance, and she gives an example, want more money? And so I recognize that what she’s really asking is, what am I “for”, as in
f-o-r? What am I here for?
My answer to her is to live in love with life. That’s my core desire. That’s what I’m here for, to live in love with life. That’s the little snippet of the dream. I want to talk about that for a moment because as I listened more deeply and began to unpack that concept, I recognize there’s the surface meaning to live in love with life. But I also recognize that there’s more to it to live, as if it was like three separate phrases, to live…in love…with life. And to live, of course is to be present and engaged and awake. We can so often fall into a state of stupor or numbness, where we’re going through the motions of our days, but we’re not really living. We’re not really present. So to live part of my core value, and what I’m here for is to live, not to fall asleep and not to go through this lifetime numb, but to live in love with life.
I’ve often used this phrase “to be in love,” but not in the way our culture typically use that phrase, as in a romantic love, but to be in LOVE, to recognize that I exist in LOVE, that everything exists in LOVE, and there isn’t anything that exists outside of love. Love is all encompassing. So I must live in love, and be aware that I exist in love and that you exist in love to be living my core desire.
So to live in love with life, as I understand it and experience it, life is the ever evolving and ever expressive and ever arising. expression of love. Life is this thing that is constantly coming into being and these expressions that come forth and then fade away and dissolve and then new expressions of life come forth. So life is this ongoing expression of the reality of love. So my “for,” to answer this woman’s question, is to live in love with life. That’s what I’m here for.
I wanted to share that dream with you because in the dream itself, I was so appreciative to this woman for asking this question. As I said, at first I thought she was asking me to describe it in four words, but then I realized that’s not really what she was asking. It’s to get my core desire succinct, to be really, really clear about them? Why am I here? What am I here for? What is my “for”?
And so in this dream, I was very appreciative to this woman for posing that question to me, and challenging me to get crystal clear in a very concise way; what is my for? In the dream, I was very grateful for that question. I realized I wanted to share this it with others, because it’s so helpful. So I decided I would bring it to you, evolutionary activists, as a question for you to ponder. What is your for? What are you here for? In a very concise and crystallized way? What is your for?
So, I leave that question with you. And I really invite you and encourage you to take that question seriously. In the dream I was posed this question and I knew, I had to answer it. There was no way that I could just dismiss this question because it was so important.
And in like fashion, I want you to respond to this question with that same a sense of recognition; this is an important question. It’s a very, very important question. And I think perhaps especially in these turbulent times that we’re in, I think it’s really important for us to be clear. What is our for? Because we live in times that encourage us to dwell in the question of what are we against? But this is a very different question. What are you on this earth for? And what do you stand for?
And what is your core desire? The core desire is never found in what we’re against. Our core desire is only ever found in this question of what are we for, and what is our for? So I leave that question with you to ponder this week and to listen very closely for yourself. What is your “for” and to allow that “for” statement to be a touchstone for you to continually reorient yourself to that question, which is your North Star of what you are here on this planet for and until next week, peace.
